MOMENTS OF PEACE

It really feels good to pen down your thoughts after 2 years especially when you have found time amidst a busy schedule. I would like to say that last 2 weeks have been nothing but maddening . With all tension ,workload and all c.onversations leading to one dreaded topic like the saying goes "All roads lead to Rome ". There are times one feels like running away from madness..
I would really like to thank my stars for being in a B-school campus amidst nature. For a city dweller like me, its been a welcome change as every morning I am greeted by the sound of birds instead of vehicles. The windows open into wilderness instead of a neighbor's kitchen.
I look forward to evenings as weather turns pleasant and sky has hues of blue, yellow and crimson. It’s the time when sun is going to move below the horizon to pave way for its other brothers (stars). Sunset though looks good from my window, its best when viewed from a place right behind library. Its a best place if one wishes to unwind by either reading a novel, listening to music or just silently sipping a hot cup of coffee. Its however not important what one does during that time but what one feels. The feeling I experience can be summed up in one word "SOLITUDE". This makes me understand the importance of  "ME-TIME" or "Leisure" . While we are busy running an imaginary race in our lives, many times we fail to appreciate the beauty of our surroundings./ Yet materialistic aspirations sometimes fail to bring out a smile on our face which a sunset, chirping of birds, raindrops ,smell of sand before rains and a smile of a baby can bring. I would like to sign off with one of my most favorite from the great poet Wordsworth

What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?—

No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:

No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:

No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:

No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:

No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?

A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

  1. Beautifully expressed the pleasure of living in a place away from the mad race of city, yet preparing our self to become a part of it..!Loved every line of it..:)
